Built in 1938 by a small group of Muslim pioneers in Edmonton, the Al Rashid Mosque was Canada’s first mosque. It has stood as a symbol of faith, strength, and unity. Starting with just ten families praying and building it themselves, it remains an important part of Muslim life and history in Canada. Al Rashid honors the spirit of those early pioneers and their lasting legacy.
